I Don't have a copy of <game>, can you burn me a copy?
No. Sorry, we aren't going to be a swap session. Pirating games is illiegal. What you install and do with your system is up to you, but we aren't gonna burn the games for you.
What's the latest version of Counter Strike Source / Battlefield 2, do I need the
latest?
Yes, you need to be running the latest versions of games, but the
updates will be available for download from the server. If you are
bringing a different game, please check the net for the latest
updates, and bring them with you. If you are playing Counter Strike Source, Please make sure Steam is updated the night before (if possible).
I Don't have a Network Card / Network cable - Can I buy one
there?
If you Contact us then we can arrange to have a network card and /
or cable to be at the hall. Both the admins are able to fit them -
it's their day job as well. This isn't ideal though, as we'll be
busy keeping things running (and playing!), so if you can get one
fitted before the event, then that's preferable.
I've got a friend that would like to play, but can't bring their
own system. Can we share mine?
Yes. The admission fee is per computer, not person, so you are welcome to
share a machine between 2 people. Just remember we only supply one
chair, so unless your friend likes standing, I'd suggest they bring
a chair! Please don't have more than 2 to a machine, as it'll just
get too crowded. (If said friend would like to make an additional
small donation to St. John, it would be appreciated)
I've got a cool mp3 collection, can I put it on a server to
share?
No. Again, this is a game session, not a Warez session. MP3's
violate copyright laws, so we don't want to see them.
This website sucks - you need to learn to make decent web pages.
Come on, it's a little better and as always, the RiverLAN
website will be a site in progress. The website will be dynamic
and have forums one day, but not today.
